Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has rubbished opposition leader Raila Odinga’s recent claims that he remains in the opposition, claiming that he is well within the government.
In an interview on Milele FM early Wednesday, the Ford Kenya deputy party leader revealed that Raila has since taken up a special envoy role job.
He said that the former Premier is the Kenyan special envoy to the African Union, hence his many international trips and mediation assignments.
‘’Raila ndiye balozi wa Kenya katika Umoja wa Africa na ndio maana anashughulika kuleta amani Sudan Kusini (he is the Kenyan envoy to the AU hence his recent mediation in South Sudan),’’ said Khalwale.
He, however, cautioned the ruling Jubilee party against the veteran leader, claiming that he is most likely planning on breaking it to realize his future political ambitions.
The former Kakamega gubernatorial hopeful termed Odinga as a skilled political player, noting that he could be planning to use Jubilee for his presidential ambitions.
He, however, said that the plan seems to be failing, hence Raila's latest move to declare that he remains in the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA).
‘’Yeye anajulikana kwa kuvunja vyama na huenda akavunja Jubilee pia, lakini inaonekana wanajubilee wamemgundua na ndio maana tena anasema bado yuko katika NASA (he is a political party destroyer but Jubilee members seem to have blocked him hence his move to revert to NASA),’’ he added.
