Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana has waded into the escalating ugly public jibes between Deputy President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga over corruption issue.
Kibwana said the jibes between the two leaders is a threat to the country’s unity.
He said the duo should tone down and unite in the handshake's spirit.
Kibwana stated that it is Kenyans wish that the ODM Party leader and DP Ruto will have a second generation handshake for the sake of peace.
“It is my sincere prayer and that of many Kenyans that Deputy President @ WilliasRuto and former PM @Railaodinga hold a second generation handshake to ensure an all-inclusive unity of our great nation#DevCon2019,” Kibwana tweeted on Thursday.
The Deputy President and ODM leader have in the recent days exchanged ugly jibes over the ongoing graft investigations.
Ruto has severally been quoted accusing Raila of planning to scuttle the Jubilee party.
He further accused the ODM chief of using graft to demonize the Jubilee administration.
Raila on the other hand told Ruto to keep off the ongoing graft investigations.
