ODM leader Raila Odinga and his political nemesis William Ruto will on Saturday visit various regions in the coastal strip amid the ongoing war of words between the two protagonists.
Kilifi Women Representative Gertrude Mbeya said the DP will visit Kilifi South constituency for a fundraiser for Kiama Women Group, adding that the tour is developmental.
“He is coming to assist us in projects that we believe will change the lives of the residents,” she said.
“Women in this region have remained marginalised for long but we want to make sure that we change that.”
And after the Kilifi South function, Dr Ruto will be in Kaloleni constituency for another function at St John's Girls Secondary school according to MP Paul Katana.
“The DP will be in Kaloleni for an event to commemorate 50 years of St John’s Girls Secondary School. As a guest of honour, the DP will also fundraise in aid of the school’s multipurpose hall. The DP is coming purely to support development initiatives in Kaloleni,” said Mr Katana.
While Odinga's handlers remain tight lipped over his trip, the ODM leader is said to have hastily organised the trip and would visit Mombasa and Msambweni areas.
Apparently, his trip is seen as a fight back to defend the decision by the ODM party to expel Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa which use irked political temperatures in the Coast.
The Orange party however spared Suleiman Dori of Msambweni, who is now likely to host Mr Odinga at the area on Saturday.Raila-Ruto return to Coast amid political fireworks.
