There is need to do a need based assessment of secondary schools in Lungalunga so as to prioritise the areas that will improve institutions capacity to accommodate more students.
This is according to Lungalunga MP Khatib Mwashetani.
With the government directive on 100% secondary school transition in place, Mwashetani said school principals should also put more effort to improve the grades as elected leaders push the government to increase more funds for the schools.
Mwashetani made the statement during a meeting with secondary school heads (at Bamburi Beach Hotel) in Mombasa on Monday, where they deliberated on the many challenges school principals face as they seek to improve the general learning environment in the schools.
The comes a week after a nationwide campaign dubbed "the last mile form one admission campaign towards 100% transition" was officially launched in Mombasa.

Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education Dr Belio Kipsang while launching the campaign at the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zeyd School, directed all school heads and provincial administrators to ensure that all pupils who sat for the 2018 KCPE are enrolled in secondary schools.
