Political analyst Gerald Bitok has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are no longer united as was the case before their 2017 victory.
Speaking on Wednesday, the commentator based his argument on the widening rift between the two, which is currently being openly seen and felt.
He argued that the hostility between their camps of allies is another demonstration that things are no longer good between the two national leaders.
"Rais na Ruto hawako pamoja. Haiwezikuwa wako pamoja ilhali watu wao wanatukanana(they are no longer together. Otherwise, their allies would not be trading insults)," he said.
Bitok was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night, at s time when the rift within the ruling Jubilee Party seems to be widening.
The party has since broken into two factions; the pro-Ruto Tangatanga team and the Kieleweke side which is completely opposed to the DP and this 2022 presidential bid.
Bitok stressed on the need for the two to revive their unity, warning that the division will further raise political temperatures in the countries, or resign from office.
"Kama hawawezi fanya kazi pamoja watoke waende nyumbani (they should leave their offices of they cannot work together)," he added.
The interview was also attended by governance expert and former Rongo MP aspirant David Osiany and Nakuru county assembly speaker Joel Kairu.
