President Uhuru Kenyatta has told off Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu over claims that her troubles were hatched by the presidency.

Mwilu was last week frog-marched to court by the Director of Public Prosecutions after he was satisfied that the top legal brain has questions to answer in relation to corruption.

As she fights back the charges, Mwilu claimed the DPP is being used by the presidency to 'fix' the judiciary as Uhuru had vowed to do after being reelected for a second term.

Uhuru's remarks came after the Supreme court overturned his win in 2017 citing illegalities committed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Rattled by the Supreme Court judge's decision, Uhuru said 'we shall revisit this matter'.

This is some of the remarks Mwilu is using to build her defense claiming the arrest is nothing but pure witch-hunt.

President Kenyatta, however, has also come out guns blazing and told Mwilu to carry her own cross instead of dragging him into the matter.

“Kama wewe unaona umechukuliwa kwa njia ya makosa, si tuko na korti. Na tunasema korti ni independent, si tutaona, tutasikia ushahidi na tutajua, wewe if you are innocent you are innocent. Because we believe in due process, you innocent until proven guilty,”the president said moment before he flew to China.

The head of state said the DCJ should face the DPP and solve their matter in the corridors of justice.

"Lakini mashtaka sio yangu kuna wale ambao wamekushtaki wamesema umefanya one two three, beba msalaba yako jameni. Please usiseme ni Uhuru amekuchukia, mimi nasoma kwa magazeti kama nyinyi tu wenye wamechukuliwa,” he added.
