Former Energy minister Ochillo Ayacko's name was conspicuously withdrawn from President Uhuru Kenyatta's list of ambassadors minutes after appointment.

A list read by acting State House spokesperson Kanze Dena initially had Ochillo's name but the official Kenya Gazette had it withdrawn.

Instead, former MP Paddy Ahenda was introduced with a source claiming that opposition leader Raila Odinga may have had a hand in it.

"I wish to thank President Uhuru for the appointment. However, the name was withdrawn an indication of better things to come," he said.

A source privy to ongoing reshuffles hints that Raila Odinga convinced Uhuru to drop Ochillo since he will be ODM's candidate in Migiro senatorial by-elections.

"There was MOU signed in Raila's presence between Ochillo and Governor Okoth Obado. He will run for senator as he prepares for 2022 gubernatorial contest," said the source.

Both Ayacko and Obado contested for governorship and the outcome was such narrow that the former has reportedly been causing economic 'sabotage' in the county.

To end the intrigues, the source adds, Raila had to unite the duo during Senator Ben Oluoch's burial early this week.
