The month of February is considered by many as the month of love and the two soulful Kenyan artist, Trina Mungai and Mayonde, have set the mood through their new hit song dubbed Shika.

The two artists worked together previously during the Coke Studio Africa in the early stages of their music career as background vocalists.

It took some time before they came together to release these new jam that is taking Kenyan airwaves by storm.

The song was released officially on February 1, 2019.

The recent campaign by Kenyan artists to have local music being played more often was met by criticism by a section of people claiming Kenyan music lack content.

The two sensational musicians proved the critics wrong, through Shika that clearly has good content.

The video of the song is very sexy and has very sensual lyrics which conform well with the theme of love.

The chemistry between the two and beautifully synchronized vocals have added an extra spark that everyone wants in a song.

However, the two singers made it clear during an interview with Kiss FM that they are not a girl group but just decided to come together and give the fans what they really need this month of Love.

"We decided to work together because during our time at coke studio we realized that we work together so well so why not. We are wearing close to nothing in the video and the first time was weird but we got used to being naked in front of people, lights and cameras," said Mayonde.
