Self-styled city preacher prophetess Mary Akatsa of the Jerusalem Church of Christ located in Nairobi's Kawangware area has often castigated city preachers wh demand for money from their congregation.
The controversial prophetess argues that it is wrong for men and women of God to demand for money from their followers.
She states that Jesus Christ never demanded asked for money for him to pray for people. She states that men and women of God have turned greedy and are now fleecing followers.
Akatsa says that she never asks her followers to give donations through M-Pesa or any other way as many city preachers do.
The preacher opines that is against the doctrines of preachers forcing people to give money or material things.
"Majority of men and women of God have turned greedy and are using donations to enrich themselves," she says.
Akatsa says that she never asks for donations and instead she is the one who feeds her followers.
The preacher says that majority of city preachers have ulterior motives and are misleading their flocks.
"Many of them will never see the Kingdom of God because they are fake people misleading innocent people," she reveals.
She adds that church matters have been commercialized as pastors run after money. "My followers only give 'sadaka' and nothing else because the rest of the things like giving them food I do it myself."
Akatsa's church is known for its tough rules and it is here where worshippers are punished if they come to church late.
The church boasts of over one million followers across the country.
Akatsa was in the news in 1988 when she allegedly brought 'Jesus' to Kawangware.
It, however, emerged that the man who resembled Christ was not Him but an Asian missionary on a worldwide tour.
