The battle of supremacy between the senate and national assembly has intensified.
National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and his Minority colleague John Mbadi have now embarked on the process to remove the posts of the Senate majority and minority seats.
The duo opines that the majority leader and minority leaders seats, which are held by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Siaya’s James Orengo, are a waste of money.
The lawmakers said that the two have been earning salaries and allowance for doing nothing.
They argued that the removal of the posts will save the taxpayers some good money at the end of the day. Duale and Mbadi have revealed their intentions to write to Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi over the matter.
The lawmakers are also expected to send a copy of the letter to the Auditor General Edward Ouko and Attorney General Kihara Kariuki to explain why the posts should be scrapped off with immediate effect.
Duale has also said that he will rally Members of parliament to back the proposal in a bid to save public resources
“We need to be told why the PSC has created offices that are not found in the constitution. They started a war and the war must end to its conclusion,” Duale said, as quoted Capital FM.
