Members of Tanga Tanga brigade from Kisii and Nyamira Counties are undecided whether or not to attend three functions scheduled by Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i on Friday.
Dr Matiang'i will commission Matutu and Keroka Police Stations in Nyamira before attending a similar function in Kenyenya, Bomachoge-Chache area.
Already, supporters of the CS, who are pushing to have him in presidential ballot, have confirmed attending the function to continue rallying for Abagusii unity.
"As leaders, we shall accompany him to those areas. This is an indication that he's working for his people. I urge all leaders to support his bid," Governor John Nyagarama said on Sunday.
But those opposed to his rise in local leadership are weary of his trip with some contemplating to skip the event. They are however unsure of the next move.
An aide to Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose, confirmed that the MP, who supports DP William Ruto, is unsure of attending Keroka function.
"I can't tell if he's attending but all indications are, he might skip it for other functions. The event is likely to be political and he is keen to avoid embarrassment," he said.
Last week, West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi dismissed Matiang'i's quest, arguing that he's yet to launch any substantive project in the region.
"We can't be launching things that were budgeted long time ago. Let him launch new projects using money meant for emergencies. Otherwise he has done nothing," he said as he dismissed the trip.
For Bomachoge-Chache MP Alfa Miruka, it's also unclear if he shall attend the Kenyenya function. He's also one of MPs supporting DP William Ruto.
