Barely a year ago, they were President Uhuru Kenyatta’s men in his bid to wrestle the control of Coast region from ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Former Kilifi South MP Mustafa Iddi and his Ganze and Magarini counterparts Peter Shehe and Harrison Kombe respectively are finding themselves in the political cold after losing their seats in 2017.

Their decision to decamp from Raila’s ODM to join Jubilee ‘for development’ could have cost them their seats as the electorates turned heat on them.

They were assured of positions in the new Uhuru government for standing with the party. However, nearly one year later, nothing has been coming their way.

Of all the Jubilee key men in Kilifi, only a few have landed government jobs including former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro and former Ministers Dan Kazungu and Kazungu Kambi. The rest are still patiently waiting for their offer.

With talks rife that cabinet reshuffle is looming in Uhuru’s government, could that be their opportunity to finally emerge from the political wilderness?
