Homa Bay County Women representative Gladys Wanga on Wednesday while addressing the press at Parliament buildings asked girls to avoid shortcuts to money.
"Girls should leave sponsors alone and accept their family backgrounds. Sponsors may end up killing them one day the same way we are mourning the death of Sharon Otieno whose lifeless body was found dumped in Kodera forest," she said.
The vocal MP urged girls especially those in universities and colleges to shun engaging in illicit love affairs with politicians and other prominent people in the country.
"Girls who are in higher learning institutions should concentrate on their studies and ignore sponsors. We don't want to witness more killings in this country," she added.
She condemned the killing of Sharon Otieno who was abducted together with Nation Media Group reporter Barrack Oduor.
The MP urged detectives to bring the killers into book.
