Public primary and secondary schools are re-opening this week for first term after the long December holidays and parents across the country are rushing to secure space for their Form One students in various secondary schools.

Even as the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) admits students basing on their performance in 2018 KCPE, some parents whose students performed well are sourcing schools for their kids.

Majority of parents are seeking slots in schools regarded as academic giants.

These schools have been registering exemplary performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

In the 2018 KCSE results, Umu Salama topped in Garissa.

The school produced the top student, Katrar Ahmed Ali who scored an A- of 76 points.
