Governor Mutua assented to the budget on Tuesday at the county offices in Machakos.

The Governor signed the budget after it was debated and adopted by the County Assembly last week.

Residents took to social media platforms (Machakos county forum and Machakos united forum) to react on the budget.

Some wondered where the money goes into since nothing much seems to be happening in Machakos.

"12.2 Billion budget ! Yet nothing is happening at grass roots," Solomon Kitheka said.

"Wow ! 12 Billion budget for Machakos yet we have no water, good roads, hospitals pathetic indeed shithole county," said Agness Mutie.

Others though congratulated the Mutua.

"Good work go on Bwana governor, we are behind you," said Jacky Mutinda said.

"Good work governor, you are indeed the people's choice want to see development chap chap," Patricia Ndunge added.

One Patrick Kilonzo told the governor that "@Governor Mutua, you should have waited for the Supreme Court ruling before assenting to the budget, you never know."

Governor Mutua said that the budget is tailored to address the issues facing the people. He said that it will actualise his push for Maendeleo Chap Chap.

The embattled Machakos Governor has been under attack from a section of county politicians who have been accusing him of allegedly 'sleeping' on the job.
