Murathe said he is a happy man since the deputy president has been 'tamed'.

"I am glad that DP Ruto has been put in his place, the government has been properly streamlined. So, we will no longer see him going around the country again in the guise of launching and monitoring state's development projects," Murathe said.

He spoke during a Wiper leadership meeting at Kalonzo Musyoka's rural home in Yatta, Machakos County.

Murathe said President Uhuru Kenyatta can still be part of the country's top leadership after his second term in office comes to an end in 2022.

He said the Constitution does not bar Uhuru from holding another top position in government such as being a deputy president.

Murathe said Interior CS Fred Matiangi's appointment to oversee other Cabinet Secretaries was meant to tame Deputy President William Ruto as he pursues his agenda.

He also warned residents against being taken for a ride by the DP when he tours the region in the name of development.

Murathe said it is the citizens' right to reap from development and not a favor.
