Emotions ran high as the nation, family and relatives paid their last respect to departed sports personality James Radido Oduor alias Odu Cobra at his home on Saturday.
Odu is one of the 14 innocent civilians who lost their lives in the Riverside terror attack in Nairobi last month.
The attack was carried out by Somali based terror group Al Shabaab.
He was on Saturday laid to rest at his home in Ugenya constituency, in a function that was attended by area political and administrative leaders.
The administration wing was represented by Ukwala Deputy County Commissioner Pamela Atieno who used the function to declare war on criminals in the region.
She cautioned residents to be wary of emerging criminal gangs in Ukwala's Nyadorera village, adding that the state has taken up the case and will deal with them.
“We are privy to criminal gangs in this area; we have put them on the radar and soon the law will catch up with them,” she was quoted by the Standard.
The political wing was lead by Siaya Senator James Orengo who led area lawmakers in mourning Odu Cobra.
Others present were area lawmaker Elisha Odhiambo, Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
He was hailed as a cheerful and compassionate young man.
