On Sunday, Nairobi women representative Esther Passaris posted on social media about her visit to the ailing Kibra MP Kenneth Okoth.
In the tweet, Passaris captioned it with a photo of the MP's wife. "Greetings from Hon. Okoth Kenneth and his lovely wife Monica. Thank you Mheshimiwa for making time for my visit today. I know you can't wait to return and get back in the saddle. We are all praying and rooting for you!"
A follower by the name Abass Mohamed reacted to the tweet by asking the Nairobi Woman Rep why the MP's wife is a 'mzungu' and why she looks older than the MP.
"Esther kwani mheshimiwa his wife ni mzungu (Is his wife a white)?ama amekosa wife hapo Kenya (or he could not get a wife who is Kenyan) and she looks older than him," Mohamed's tweet read.
Irked by the tweet, Passaris asked Mohamed to "grow up" and stay silent if he does not have anything meaningful to say.
"#Grow Up If and when you have nothing constructive to say. Silence can be a virtue. Don't try to think when you can't and for pity's sake don't type what is of no humane value. Now join my blocked list until you grow up," Passaris' response tweet read.
