Kenya is certainly one of the most religious countries when it comes to Christianity. This might be a great reason as to why we relate well to gospel music.

Below is a list of artists who decided to cross over and join the gospel industry;

Linet Munyali was famously known as size eight. This news definitely came as a surprise to most of her fans and Kenya as a whole. It was unexpected of Size 8t to move to the other side since she was doing so well in the secular industry. She confessed that the change was caused by her depression, dissatisfaction, and unhappiness in life. Linet went on to marry the famous DJ Mo. The public did speculate that she got saved so she could get married to the famous gospel Dj. Size 8 is doing well in the gospel industry having hit after hit.

Amani also decided to crossover to the gospel side but unfortunately, Kenyans did not make much of this statement. This was seen as one of the moves secular artists were making when their music career was declared dead. The secular artist had been missing for a while in the limelight and many speculated that she had finally decided to settle down. Her gospel career has not been successful and is yet to have any hit song.

Maya famously known for the hit song chokoza has also taken a hiatus from her music. She announced that she had decided to get born again after suffering from post-partum depression after the birth of her son. Maya cited this experience as one of the most difficult times in her life.

Wahu's gospel song sifa attracted positive reactions from Kenyans. She was pressured to confirm if she had as well crossed over to the gospel side like other secular artists. Wahu later revealed she had given her life to Christ and is since doing great in the industry.
