Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has claimed that a bounty has been placed on his head by people he refers to as "Sharon killers."

The outspoken legislator made the claims on his Twitter handle Monday.

"Sharon killers are planning to assassinate me and I got your threats... A Muslim does not fear death," he posted, tagging the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Junet Mohamed's positions on various issues have seen him rub certain politicians from Nyanza the wrong way.

The politician, who is a close ally of Raila, is the first Somali politician to clinch a political seat in Luo Nyanza.
