President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, during the burial of governor Anyang' Nyong'o's mother, revealed one of the least expected confessions divulging finest details on how his firstborn son was delivered.
To the applause of the mourners who had gathered on the event, Uhuru said that it was the sister to the Kisumu County Governor who helped the First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta, to deliver their eldest son Jomo.
Speaking during the burial event of mother Dorcas Nyong’o in Seme area, Uhuru narrated how the deceased saw her personal ambition to become a nurse fulfilled by her blood daughter.
“Sikumjua sana, naskia alikua anataka kua nurse. (I didn't know much about her, but I hear she wanted to become a nurse). At least I can testify she would have been a good nurse). This is because her first daughter who became a nurse and spoke here earlier is the one who delivered my first son Jomo.
Hii ni hakikisho ya kwamba ata yeye angekua nurse mzuri. Mama, endelea kutuchunga, mtoto amekua na ako na bibi na mtoto sasa (This is a confirmation that she could, too, be a good nurse. Mum, continue taking care of us, the kid is now a grown-up, and he has a wife and a child now),” said the head of state as quoted by SDE.
Uhuru's son Jomo and wife Fiona welcomed their baby daughter in 2017.
