President Uhuru arrived in Washington DC on Saturday upon invitation by US President Donald Trump.

And Kenyan ambassador to Washington DC Njeru Githae said the president would be under squeezed schedule thus the decision to veer off from the tradition.

“The president will only be around for one or maybe one and half days and most of that time will be taken up by his meeting with his counter-part, President Donald Trump at the White House” Mr Githae said.

“The president expresses his regrets. He would have loved to meet with Kenyans because that is one his best moments whenever he visits abroad,” Mr Githae added.

During such visits, the president takes time to discuss contemporary issues back home most revolving around politics and economy.

Uhuru will meet Trump on Monday and their meeting will see the two leaders discuss ties between the two countries.
