Kenyans on social media have expressed mixed reactions after DNA results confirmed that the Kakamega twins may have been switched at birth.
The DNA test which was conducted by Lancet Kenya confirmed that Sharon Matheus and Melon Lutenyo are identical twins whereas Melvis Imbaya is not related to the twins.
This suggests that the two twins may have been switched at birth at the then Kakamega Provincial General Hospital, now Kakamega Teaching and Referral Hospital.
A section of the netizens demanded legal action to be taken against the doctors who were involved in the delivery of the three girls.
Some of the Kenyans on Twitter expressed their sympathy towards Melvis who according to the DNA results, has not been leaving with her biological family for the past 19 years.
They believed the change of events will not only affect her psychologically but also hurt her.
The results also made some of the cyber citizens wonder how many parents are unknowingly living with children who are not theirs.
