Led by Maurice Kimawachi, the party's branch chairman, they lamented that the party is divided as some elected leaders were working with their opponents while others were opposed to the move.

"We are confused as officials of the party because there is no direction, we want our party leader to tell us where are we headed as a party" said Mr. Kimawachi.

A section of Ford Kenya elected leaders from the county recently paid Deputy President William Ruto a courtesy call at his Sugoi home, a move that didn't go down well with some party supporters.

However, speaking after the visit, Kabuchai Member of Parliament, James Lusweti (Ford Kenya) defended the move saying it was development-based and not political as some party officials had imagined.

"We went to discuss development matters in our areas of jurisdiction and nothing else" said Lusweti.

"Our people pay tax just like those in Rift Valley and Central Kenya and other parts of this country, so why should be left behind in matters development?" He posed.

He however refused to confirm whether or not they had the blessing of the party leader to visit the DP.

Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati ( Ford Kenya) distanced himself from the visit terming it suspicious and one that does not represent the position of the party.

"Those who went to see the DP went as individuals and should not hide under the banner of development to confuse our supporters" said Wangamati.

In Kakamega county, a similar call has been made by party officials.

The officials have threatened to take action against Deputy Party leader Boni Khalwalwe whom they accuse of working with DP without consulting party organs and other stakeholders.

They have asked the party leader to come clean and give direction.
