After the unanticipated truce between opposition chief Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has not been a happy man.
According to Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Murkomen has been at the forefront fighting every decision by the President.
Here are the main problems with Murkomen according to Sakaja:
Kipchumba Murkomen is still after fighting the NASA leader and he does not understand that the time for politics is over.
Speaking during Milele FM interview, Sakaja said that Murkomen has been moving around attacking Raila and blaming him for Mau Forest evictions.
“Ile shida nilikuwa nayo na kiongozi wa wengi katika senate ni wakati alienda Mau akasema eti watu wamefurushwa katika Mau kwa sababu ya handshake eti mtu ameingia kwa serikali kwa mlango ya nyuma. Kila siku kupiga Raila, kupiga opposition siasa imeisha (I had a problem with Senate Majority leader when he went to Mau and said that the evictions are because of a person who got into the government using the back door. He is always attacking Raila and opposition but politics is over),” said Sakaja.
Secondly, the Senate Majority leader is always against decisions made by the President and always has lame excuses.
“Kwanza rais anasema tuwe na lifestyle audit anasema hapana, unatarget watu wetu, anasema tupigane na ufisadi , hapana unajaribu kufrustrate Dp, anasema tuwe na handshake anasema hapana hiyo ni mpango ya 2022 (You are against lifestyle audit claiming that it targets your people, you condemn fight against corruption claiming it is after frustrating DP and fight the handshake because it is 2022 plan). How can you frustrate everything your party leader is doing?” noted Sakaja.
Lastly, Murkomen is preoccupied with positions and election rather than development and concentrating on the future generation.
“Unafanya kitu ndogo ya kusaidia watu, huyu anataka Governor (when you help people, he claims you want to be the Governor). Politicians are preoccupied with positions and election but true leaders are preoccupied with the next generation."
