The current landscape is filled with large tracts of maize plantation. At a closer look of the area, you will realize a different and almost unique serenity of grass thatched temporary mansions that fulfill the daily prayers of the majority of traders who sale goodies to truck drivers who dock around.

The very place is widely whispered to be the hub of orange traders on the western edge of the country. Every day, hour, minute and second, nothing much captures the eyes of passers-by apart from the green environment.

However, things are meant to change as there is a ground-breaking mega project of an ultra-modern Eldoret Southern bypass that is going to change the entire outlook of Maili Tisa.

Every passenger in the belly of every metallic locomotive will be enjoying the ride and on the contrary, bent their necks in a bid to trying and focus on the bridely meandering road connection.

This road network is going to reduce traffic jam in Eldoret town and equally create a potential for traders and businessmen to think of new business ideas and think beyond the box on where to strategically suspend their new cash-cows.

The Sh6 billion 32.9 kilometers by-pass starts at Cheplasei on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway through Kapseret on Eldoret-Kisumu road and terminates at Maili Tisa (Leseru).

China's Wu Yi company is undertaking the project.
