Kenya has lost its former 400m hurdles World Champion Nicholas Bett after an accident on Wednesday in Nandi County.
Reports indicate that the former athlete champion was driving along the Eldoret-Kapsabet highway when he suddenly veered off the road and landed into a ditch, reports Daily Nation.
The accident happened a short distance away from Lessos.
County Police Commander Patrick Wambani confirmed that Bett died on the spot.
By the time of going to press, his body was being transported to a nearby mortuary.
