Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious in 2022 general elections to succeed his boss Governor James Ongwae.
According to Maangi, his humbleness will see him crowned the victor to the surprise of his 'desperate' opponents.
"I am humble and without doubt, the people of Kisii County will consider my gubernatorial candidature in 2022 and elect me. My rivals should be prepared for my victory," said Maangi on Sunday when he attended a fundraising at Matagaro 1 SDA church in Bokimonge, Bomachoge Borabu.
The Deputy Governor regretted that his political rivals are focused on divisive politics instead of laying down strategies for the 2022 contest.
Maangi argued that the people of Kisii County will not vote for leaders who have prioritized their selfish interests.
"Leaders who have put their interests first won't get elected in 2022. The people of Kisii County are mature and no one will succeed in misleading them. As leaders we must ensure the lives of our people are improved," he added.
He confirmed that he has a good working relationship with his boss Governor James Ongwae.
"I am committed to helping my boss to deliver to the electorates," he noted.
