Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny officially opened a football tournament in his sub-county on Saturday, which will be expected to run for the next one month.
The competition, which will be held at Yuya Primary school sports ground in Kaplamai Ward, will see more than 66 football clubs drawn from the larger Cherangany participate.
"More than 66 football clubs drawn from Cherangany constituency will participate in a one-month long soccer tournament. The competition dubbed Hon Joshua Kutuny football tournament officially kicked-off today at Yuya Primary school Sports ground in Kaplamai Ward," Joshua Kutuny said on his official Facebook page.
Winners will take home different prizes, ranging from cash prizes, full sports uniform and shoes among others.
The overall winner will walk away with Sh200,000, runners-up 100, 000 and third position will take home a cash prize of Sh70,000.
"In addition, the winner of the tournament under my sponsorship will also get a supply of full uniforms and shoes," added Kutuny.
Cherangany sub-county has seven wards.
