Former Nacada boss John Mututho wants stern action taken against corrupt members of various committees in the National Assembly and Senate.
Mututho, who once served as MP for Naivasha, said there has been a trend in parliament where some committee members become compromised when probing scandals involving powerful persons in the country.
Addressing media on Monday at his Jomec offices, the former Nacada boss said a time has come that corrupt MPs step aside and allow persons of integrity to serve Kenyans.
“We condemn the corruption cases being reported at parliament and it is high time that we call a spade a spade. We better do with half of the members than have the whole house yet many are corrupt,” said Mututho.
While noting that the integrity of the parliament was now questionable, Mututho said taking a bribe is the worst sin the MPs can engage in as it undermines integrity.
He called on institutions mandated to fight graft to move with speed and act on corrupt MPs.
“The government has all officers with their mandate and that is why we are calling on them to move with speed and ensure the corrupt MPs are dealt with,” said Mututho.
