President Uhuru Kenyatta will only be scared should he read from different script with opposition leader Raila Odinga, political analyst Harman Manyora claims.
In the recent weeks, Uhuru has differed with his Deputy William Ruto and even scolded MPs allied to Ruto who seems to be unconformable with the ongoing fight against corruption.
And one year after the famous handshake which opened new political path in the country, Manyora says only Raila Odinga can cause concerns to Uhuru's government given his experience to certain issues of national interest.
“The handshake ensured Kenyatta got the peace that he craved for. He was going through hell,” Manyora said.
“The handshake gave him the assurance and freedom to act without fear of the political backlash he could face from Raila, were they not in the same camp.”
“Kenyatta and his advisors realised that once they had Raila on their side, they didn’t need to worry about anyone else,” Manyora adds.
While Uhuru openly lauded DPP Noordin Haji and DCI George Kinoti, Dr Ruto and his camp have often scolded the two, accusing them of witch-hunt in the fight against graft.
Mr Odinga has worked closely with Uhuru in the past year, prioritizing fight against graft among others as their key area of focus.
"They used to deny that there is no corruption in government. I am happy the president admitted and we have launched the real fight," he said on Thursday at Kameme FM.
