A suspect linked to the killing of the late Jamal Gaddaffi, a Vioja Mahakamani actor, was arraigned at the Machakos High court but failed to take a plea.
Grace Kananu Namu, the woman who is alleged to have stabbed Gaddafi to death was to expected answer to charges of murder on Tuesday morning so that the case could commence, Citizen Digital reported.
The Court was, however, informed that the medical report for the suspect was not available put the matter to a halt.
Presiding judge Justice George Odunga questioned the Prison Department to explain reasons as to why the suspect had not been taken to Mathare Hospital for a mental examination.
The department, however, told the court that the psychiatrist who was supposed to attend to the suspect had gone for December holidays and could not attend to her within the specified timeline.
The court on December 27, heard the matter and ordered that the suspect is taken for a medical assessment at Mathare Hospital.
Judge Odunga has ordered that the medical examination be done this week before presenting the suspect in court for plea taking on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
Gaddafi made his untimely death on the early morning of Wednesday, December 11, 2018 after being allegedly stabbed by his lover Grace Kananu following an endless quarrel at a night party organized by Grace.
Kananu is said to have picked a kitchen knife and stabbed the 39-year-old actor, resulting in the heavy bleeding that led to his death.
