The suspects, Josphat Macharia Wanjiru and Rosalid Wangari Mwihaki were arraigned before a Kiambu court on Wednesday.

In their submissions before Senior Resident Magistrate Bryan Khaemba, the prosecution, who argued the robbery was filmed on surveillance cameras, asked the judge to detain the two for five days to pave way for more investigations.

Kelvin Muthama, the investigating officer in the case told the court that the car belonging Eric Muiruri was parked at the parking lot on the rooftop.

Muiruri is said to have withdrawn Sh565,000 from a Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), left Sh300,000 in his Range Rover before proceeding to shop with the balance.

“We need five more days to analyse CCTV footage from other shopping malls since the suspects are believed to be involved in a series of similar offences within Nairobi County. We also need to acquire mobile data from the service providers,” said the investigator as quoted by the Standard.

The court ordered the suspects who denied committing the crime to be detained for three days at the Kasarani Police Station.
