Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has declared himself the official leader of the opposition.
This comes at a time when the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) seems to be ailing from its leader Raila Odinga's March 9 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an exclusive interview with NTV from his home on Sunday, the Bungoma Senator claimed that the former Premier has bowed out of opposition politics, crowning himself the new chief.
Wetangula vowed to among others represent the interests of the common citizen and undertake other responsibilities attached to his alleged new post.
"The opposition is right here. I am leading the opposition and we are fighting for Kenyans some of our former strong fighters have since been captured by the enemy but a new one has emerged in me," said the lawmaker.
He, however, expressed hope that they will regain their senses and rejoin the opposition side.
"We wish them well in their state of capture and we hope that they shall transform soon," added the immediate former Senate Minority Leader.
This comes at a time when all the opposition bigwigs seem to be going the government way, with Wiper party leader on Saturday emulating Raila to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's policies.
