Former Kibwezi West MP Kalembe Ndile has asked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to quit the 2022 presidential race.
Ndile said the former Vice President should forgo his presidential ambitions and instead back another Kamba candidate for the seat.
He said Kalonzo is politically worn out to contest the presidency.
Ndile argued that the Ukambani political kingpin no longer has influence in the region and the country at large.
Speaking to journalists in Kibwezi town on Sunday, the ex-MP said Kalonzo has never been serious hence should not waste his time and resources contesting the presidency in 2022 polls.
The former TIP TIP party leader said Kalonzo squandered his opportunity to be president when he supported opposition leader Raila Odinga in 2013 and 2017 general elections.
"Kalonzo Musyoka should stop deceiving himself and his supporters because the fact remains that he does not have the influence to be president in 2022," Ndile said.
Ndile said the Ukambani region will not vote for Kalonzo in 2022.
He said Kalonzo's political time is up, he should back young and energetic Kamba leaders.
The former MP claimed that Ukambani has never benefited from Kalonzo's many years in leadership.
Ndile said the region is likely to miss out in 2022 if Kalonzo contests for the presidency.
He asked Kambas to support another candidate who will fight for the community's interests.
Kalonzo's 2022 bid hangs in the balance as some of his closest allies show signs of rebellion against him.
Last week, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana said he cannot be forced to support Kalonzo in 2022.
Governors Kibwana, Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) have vowed to chart a new political direction for the Kamba community ahead of the 2022 elections.
