Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa on Friday joined over 400 women selected from all the seven Sub-counties of Kilifi County for the official launch of Kilifi Mums Women Group in Kilifi.
The former Kilifi County Woman Representative hailed the women in the group saying their coming together was paramount for the people of Kilifi.
"I have pledged to support this noble women initiative which is aimed at fostering unity among women, empower them economically and promote educational and leadership skills among women in Kilifi County," said Jumwa after the launch.
The MP has been supporting women groups across Malindi, Kakuyuni women group which on June 19, was almost harvesting their maize crops in a 10 acre land.
Jumwa started the project in Kakuyuni Ward in order to economically empower the women and enhance food security in Malindi Constituency.
