Garissa County Secretary Abdi Mohamud has warned all county administrators against absenting themselves from their workstations.
Speaking on Wednesday during the official opening of a three-day capacity building workshop at a Garissa hotel, the CS pointed out that he had received reports that administrators were absconding duties to attend to personal businesses.
Administrators are expected to report back on the status of projects rolled out by the county government from the respective stations.
"Based on your appointments, you are by default the coordinators of the assigned functions of the government at the grassroots levels for the Governor to deliver his manifesto. Some of us are absconding duties for other private businesses, such cases should never arise again', said the county secretary.
The County Secretary said any official who will be noted to be absent from his or her working station will face disciplinary action and further added that an appraisal based on performance contracting will actively be in place to gauge the performance of the officials.
