Ex AFC Leopards star Jonas Nahimana has ventured into music as his new career, two years after hanging up his boots from the world of football.
The defender played in the Kenyan Premier League for Leopards, Sofapaka and Sony Sugar respectively from the year 2011 to 2014.
The former star then switched to Vietnam for a short spell before relocating to Illinois State in the USA where he settled for his life off the pitch.
“For those who really know me from where I grew up are not surprised to see me doing music. I have been singing since I was a little boy, at some point I was singing in church at Sofapaka,” he said as quoted by the Nation.
He added: “I have been working on my songs and now people are discovering my other side as an artist. Some people doubt. I am hoping to make a career out of this,”
The player also admitted to missing AFC Leopards and football in general, going ahead to reveal that he takes time to motivate other players, whilst thanking fans for their moral support on and off the pitch.
“I have a strong relationship with the players. I normally encourage a few players individually when they have a good game and I am planning to do more in the future. To the amazing fans, I will always be grateful forever. AFC Leopards is not just about football but family too,”
Nahimana went on to encourage former footballers to try up something they love to spend their time and earn income that can take care of their daily needs.
