A governor has turned a proposal to build him a mansion worth Sh100 million.
Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos has halted a move by MCAs to allocate him the money. The proposal is contained in the 2018-19 budget.
The county boss has therefore called on the representatives to shoot down the proposal.
“I told the MCAs that I will not assent to the appropriation if the Sh100 million for mansions is included because this is not our priority,” he said.
Tolgos move is expected to elicit debate considering that many county bosses want counties to build them official residence.
Last week, Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru was allocated Sh100 million for her official residence.
