Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho met former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, January 29, in Mombasa.
Joho shared some photos of the meeting with his Twitter followers, saying they discussed matters of national interest.
“My brother William Kabogo paid me a courtesy call to discuss matters of national interest in particular nation building and national unity," Joho tweeted.
The meeting comes after Joho was criticised by leaders from DP William Ruto’s backyard after his remarks in Busia on January 27.
Joho had vowed to stand by his party leader’s directive that called for serious opposition against Ruto, a stand shared by Kabogo when he was seeking to defend his gubernatorial position on a Jubilee party ticket.
“If somewhere people think I can be a good leader, I do say yes I can. Whether the DP (William Ruto) has an issue of me being a strong candidate in 2022, it doesn’t bother me. If he wants to be president in 2022, he must speak to us, you can’t ignore Kiambu and Murang’a,” Kabogo sometime ago.
