Kisii county government will launch a talent academy, which will be mandated to look into searching for talent among the Kisii county youth in a bid to grow the talent and help youth earn from it.

Speaking during the launch of the dimba mashinani, a soccer tournament initiated by the Kisii county women rep, Kisii county governor James Ongwae said it is time the county found a way of helping the youth earn from God-given talent

"I have directed my minister for sports to look into starting a talent academy, that will scout for talent across the county as well as look for a way of nurturing our young people to ear from the same."

Ongwae further added that the county has allocated a budget for the same and it is looking forward to making it a reality.

"My government has already allocated a budget for the talent academy. There has been a delay in starting because of delayed disbursement of funds from the national government but now we have the money with us," added Ongwae.

In his projection, the county is looking forward to forming a county team that comprises of the best talent from the 45 wards across the nine sub-counties.
