Canadian-based Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna has slammed ODM leader Raila Odinga for abandoning Onyango Oloo while in jail.
Oloo is a former political detainee who evolved to become one of the most vocal human right activists. He was the founder of Jukwaa political blog.
In a tweet, the controversial lawyer revealed that Oloo got arrested falsely for incitement.
"Onyango Oloo was arrested at the Voi Train Station in August 1982, falsely accused of sedition and jailed for 15 years for an essay he had written for his @UniOfNabi first year History program. He fled into exile in 1986," said Miguna.
The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant further noted that Raila, who he once worked for as his political adviser, abandoned Oloo at a time he needed him the most.
"While patriots like Kamonji Wachiira, @WMutunga and I tried to help Oloo during times of his dire need especially in the last few years when he fell ill, prominent architects of the 1982 coup attempt like @RailaOdinga never raised a finger even though they are extremely wealthy," he added.
Onyango Oloo passed away last night while being rushed to hospital in Nakuru.
Miguna and Oloo were great friends. Just recently, Miguna honoured him by giving him 15 copies of his book, "TREASON." He died on his way to collect these books.
