Gatundu South Member of Parliament has lauded Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit of Anglican Church for banning all harambees to be held in the church.
Speaking at Serena Hotel in Nairobi after a meeting of the Multisectoral Initiative Against Corruption (MSIAC), Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit said,“If you are to come to worship, come with your resources. And let us, as the church, also learn to mobilise resources for our development agenda and do it quietly, not with the hype that takes us off the pulpit. Let us not allow harambee money to become a subtle way of sanitising corrupt leaders.”
Through his official facebook account, the vocal legislator has passed his congratulatory message to Bishop Jackson for the latest move.
"Congratulations Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit for banning Harambees in all Anglican Churches," read part of Moses Kuria's post.
He further urged Catholic Cardinal John Njue and Moderator of PCEA Guantai Mwamba to follow suit and ban the harambees in church.
"Now looking forward to my very own Cardinal John Njue and the Catholic fraternity as well as Moderator Guantai Mwamba of PCEA to follow suit. As a leader, I look forward to worshipping quietly in the back row with my family and disappearing unnoticed as it was those sweet days of yore," read Kuria's post.
This comes as a blow to Deputy President William Ruto who has always been in church harambees donating millions as he has always revealed he is investing in heaven and those giving are always blessed than those receiving.
