The MCAs are accusing the CeC of failing to deliver on the Boresha Barabara and street lighting projects.

They say even after raising concerns on the projects in various wards and summoning the CeC 12 times, she only showed up four times while she ignored the rest of the summons.

The report that was tabled by the Infrastructure Committee chair Michael Machembu had three recommendations.

It recommended that Kariuki be given an opportunity to defend herself on the floor of the House or Governor Lee Kinyanjui makes changes to his Cabinet or impeach the CeC.

However, after the report was tabled and seconded by immediate former Majority leader Stanley Karanja, the MCAs made their input with Kabazi MCA Dr.Peter Mbae proposing amendments.

Dr.Mbae called on fellow MCAs to accept the removal of the first and second recommendations so as to remain with the last recommendation of impeachment.

His Sentiments were echoed by several MCAs among them Majority leader and Elementaita MCA Moses Ndungu, Mariashoni MCA Douglas Ayebei, Flamingo ward MCA Eddy Kiragu and nominated MCA Catherine Kamau among others.

The House adopted the report with the amendments as per the wish of the majority which is to commence an impeachment process.

The MCAs will now debate the report as from Wednesday before a vote to impeach the CeC is held.

This comes just a few days after Governor Kinyanjui made a change to his Cabinet.
