As President Uhuru Kenyatta swings into action to fight runaway graft in the country, he is seemingly winning the hearts of his former critics-turned-allies with Siaya Senator James Orengo showering him with praise.
While speaking in Siaya when he attended a cultural festival, Orengo praised Uhuru's renewed effort to tackle corruption even as he warned against its politicization.
"We must all support the President. He is doing a good job and he is very clear that when you are found guilty of corruption allegations, you should not hide behind any political affiliations, tribe or relations," Orengo who is also the Senate Minority leader said as quoted by the Standard.
Orengo's comment comes at a time when the war on corruption has taken a political angle with Uhuru's Jubilee Party appearing virtually divided amid claims by a section of politicians allied to the Deputy President William Ruto alleging that the war on graft is targeting the DP.
However, according to Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo, the war on corruption will go on even as he warned politicians against dragging the name of former President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta in the ongoing fight on graft.
