A pastor has been charged with defiling a 15-year-old girl in Kangundo, Machakos County.
Joshua Simon Kitheka who hails from Masewani village was arraigned in Kangundo Law Courts on Wednesday.
He appeared before magistrate E. Agade and pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.
According to the prosecution, the accused committed the heinous act between December 2018 and January 12, 2019.
The court heard that Kitheka allegedly rented a room at a club in Tala town and coerced the minor to engage into a sexual act with him.
Kitheka faced alternative charges of committing an indecent act with a minor.
He was asked to pay a Sh300,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.
The case is set for mentioning on February 26.
In the same court, Francis Mwanzia was charged with breaking into a home belonging to Esther Mwikali between 5th and 11th February this year.
The accused is said to have stolen goods worth Sh70,000 from the home at Matheini village in Matungulu Sub-county.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The case is set for mentioning on February 26.
