Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has trimmed his list of candidates and retained only two names for the deputy governor post.
The two are Jane Weru and lawyer Karen Nyamu.
Weru currently serves as Executive Director for the NGO Akiba Trust Mashinani. She is a lawyer by profession.
Nyamu rose into public fame in 2017 after expressing interest in the county Woman Rep seat but lost at the nominations stage.
Sonko had earlier committed to appointing a female candidate to the vacancy that was left blank January this year after the resignation of Polycarp Igathe.
The finetuning of the list means that former political ally Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and businesswoman Agnes Kagure have received the chop.
