In a relationship, the parties have distinct preferences for all house chores. There is someone who loves cooking while another loves cleaning the dishes or doing some random work around the house.

Rebecca Gale of Marie Claire reports that in a research conducted by Daniel Carlson and the team, a great number of couples who enjoyed doing their house chores together or rotating them had a great chance of enjoying a happy relationship and fulfilling intimacy.

"It is not just about the equitable division of labour. The types of chores men and women share make a difference in their marital happiness. Men love to share shopping while women love to share dishwashing," Gale quotes.

This means that if couples dedicated their time to doing housework together, it will improve the happiness of their relationships. This is far more effective than the traditional night out dinners, dates or other expensive spendings on the significant other.

It is through these activities that partners tend to be free and open with each other and will speak out their minds.

It is "embarrassing" to escort your wife to the grocery stores but this move is more likely to improve the intimacy between you and your partner greatly, the study found out.
