One of the latest and most discussed one has been the 8 percent additional tax on petrol.

The issue has attracted many political contributions, especially following opposition leader Raila Odinga's controversial backing of the proposal.

In all that, however, one man's silence has stood out, this being the always vocal Kisumu Senator Fred Outa, who is suddenly out of the picture, and is yet to weigh-in on the issue.

With a big section of politicians from the Luo Nyanza for once turning their back on the former Premier over what they have termed as betrayal to Kenyans, Outa who is known to back Odinga at whatever cost is yet to come out in defence of the veteran leader.

Nothing has as well come from him as the nation goes through a tough time characterized by a series of killings, the most publicized one being the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

With a section of area leaders emerging to bash and condemn Migori Governor Okoth Obado who has been implicated in the murder, he remains mum.

The hottest topic in Kisumu currently being the relocation of the Kachok dumpsite to Ombeyi in Muhoroni constituency, he has also remained mum on this too, despite an outcry from locals of the new dumpsite.

The Senator needs to speak to disclose his stand on these issues.
