With the reign of Governor Anyang' Ngong'o as the Kisumu County boss since last year, there is much positive news that has come out of Kisumu, otherwise known a the land of intellects.
However, with all the glory since he took office, there are still thorny issues affecting the county, one of them being insecurity.
This said, there are several places within different parts of the lakeside city that you should avoid like the plague because they are dens for robbers.
The Kachok dumpsite
This has been a dangerous area even though it is currently easing due to the relocation of the eyesore dumpsite. The area is always marooned by street children who allegedly sell hard drugs and at times, attack people who use the Moi stadium road.
The airport flyover
Be cautious when you are here. It doesn’t matter whether you are just walking, riding on a bike or driving; the place is extremely dangerous.
It is reportedly said that thugs take shelter under the flyover.
The Obunga flyover
Just like the airport flyover, it is also very dangerous. The darkness that covers the place at night has made it a harbour ground for robbers.
In the recent past, dead bodies have been found dumped here.
Dunga area opposite the Yacht Club
In the recent past, rape and robbery cases have been reported to have happened here.
A while ago, cops raided stalled buildings within Dunga that are suspected to be housing killers and hard drug vendors who pause a great threat to the society.
